Egyptian Cat Names

Egypt, by many, is considered the sacred and ancient home of cats around the globe. It's probably because all over different sites in Egypt, from the day to day streets of Cairo, to the long lived pyramids at Giza, cats are, and have always been, a big part of Egyptian culture. 

The Egyptian Mau is a fascinating cat, not only because of its past history, but because of its delightful personality, striking eyes, and appearance. 

The Mau (mau is the Egyptian word which means cat) is domesticated from a beautiful and lovely spotted subspecies of the African Wild Cat and has the distinction of being the only naturally spotted breed of domestic cat. 

They are an extremely intelligent animal, and the Mau places a great importance on family, both human and their own, and is fiercely loyal in his or her devotion to them making them an ideal pet.

Of course, the following names can be used for any feline, not just an Egyptian breed, but for any boy or girl cats that would like a fitting, and out of the ordinary name to give themselves a bit of exotic flavor!
