Baxter

I named my boy Baxter and his littermate (a little grey tabby) Bailey. I got them when they were ten days old as their mama had abandoned them in my mother's backyard so she called and asked if I would foster them. I brought them home on October 31, 2010 just intending on fostering them, but when the time came, I couldn't give them up :). I just sort of came up with the names and they fit. I was calling them the BB's (babies) but decided they needed names and Baxter and Bailey just seemed to fit.

My Cat, Baxter got his name because of the "Meow Mix" commercial that was so popular in the early 90's. A man is driving his car and his car phone rings and when he answers it you hear a cat say "Meow!" The man says, "Baxter. It's Baxter." then we all presume he goes out and buys Baxter some Meow Mix.

I remember that commercial playing the day my Baxter first came home. That was 21 years ago and Baxter lived until two weeks ago.
