A true Surviver story!

Cat's Name:

I live on a very large farm & it became almost ridiculous how many cats I had roaming around. Most of the cats were quite wild & would start fights with my tame cats & kittens, leaving me with a VERY HARD decision!! After one HORRIBLE episode involving my "baby" & a wild cat, I knew something had to change. I had animal control come get the wild & dangerous cats. Well, I had no idea, at all(!!), that one of the wild cats was female & had hidden her newborn kitten deep in the woods! The newborn went almost an entire week without a mother to nurse & protect it (and yes, we do frequently see coyotes & other predators in the woods in TN.)!! The day I found Surviver, I was coming home from dinner & saw 1 tiny & VERY malnourished baby kitten that somehow had made it to the edge of the road (I'm the only house on a dead end road with NO neighbors around), and immediately jumped out to help save this poor kitten. It was so traumatized & hungry that it did not protest at all in me picking it up & bringing it home. That was just the beginning tip of Survivors life! VERY luckily, my tame cat-Angel-had just recently had a batch of kittens (6 total but 2 died at birth), this was her first batch of babies. Angel accepted Surviver & let him nurse! Thankfully! However, Surviver was still NOT getting any bigger. A bit after being with it's foster brothers & sisters I noticed him not moving, at all. After an inspection, I noticed ALL 4 paws were blistered & bright red. After a week of Isopropyl alcohol, Neosporin, Hydrogen peroxide & Cordisone cream, he can FINALLY hobble around now! He's only about 4wks. old!! But he's definitely defied the odds so far!! Thus, the name, Surviver! Hopefully the rest of his life will be MUCH easier!!!
