The Cat who picked me

Pyewacket is the name given to a cat who was the familiar in the movie Bell Book and Candle, Staring Kim Novack and James Stewart. In the movie Pye was a Siamese breed.
My cat was brought home as a bedraggled little guy who allowed me to bath him and feed him. After that, my son took him to his room where the cat immediately showed his displeasure by defecating everywhere except the litter box. My son told me he was going to get rid of him, and I stepped in and said no I will take care of him. When he came to live with me, he used the litter box from day one and has never failed to use the box. Now in his senior years, Pye has developed a tumor on his Thyroid and the Vet has prescribed an antibiotic that must be applied to the inside of his ear twice daily.
Thge amazing thing is that he will come to me in the morning and at night and start talking to me as a reminder that it is time for his antibiotic cream application. We are now in the fourth year of applying the cream and the Vet says he is in very good shape and should live several more years.
My friend had a cat with the same problem, and had her cat subjected to radiation treatment, and had to double bag the feces and purchase special food for her. Also she could not allow the cat to lie next to her for several months after the radiation treatment. Unfortunately, her cat did not live that long after the treatment, so I have elected to stay with the cream treatment.
Pye is very much imprinted upon me and when anyone comes into my home, he goes to my bedroom and stays there until the visitor leaves.
I hope that I will out live him, as it will be hard for him to adapt to any other person.
