Okay? Okie! OKay!

I found Okie outside in the ally behind my parents house. He was still very young but wild and full of mischief. I brought him in after much persuasion and a few tricks. Once he calmed down he acted like he had lived with us his whole life. His name was one that I took a lot of time to come up with. I wanted his name to fit and not be some joke or "cutesy". I felt it should mean something that kind of explains him and his personalty. I sat and thought about it for three days before giving up. I sat in the living room watching some movie my dad was enjoying when one of the characters started explaining some spirit's name and what the meaning to that name was. Oki- a mischievous spirit whose kind when he wants to be but also mean/cruel. A being whose wild and smart. It fit wonderfully but was kind of hard to say when calling for him. So we(my family and me) slurred his name a little and found Okie to fit even better. It was like we agree with him becoming apart of our family every time we say his name.
