Feral kitten we rescued and tamed has mostly white body with big black patches/spots on body and head, and a black, somewhat stripey, tail. His biggest spot reminded me of the white and black cow-spotted boxes that Gateway computers come in!
We had a feral cat living in our back yard, (Which we called "Feral Fauwcett II"), and which we fed from time to time. I have indoor cats, so plenty of food around.
One day, we started seeing 3 little kittens following her around. Once they were weaned, we managed to collect the half-tamed mother and kittens, and took Miss Fauwcett in to get spayed at a local feral cat program, and re-released her. (She really has no interest in Humans other than the occasional handout, and is too wild to adopt. If we took her to a shelter, they would just put her down, as un-adoptable).
We are in the process of taming and adopting the kittens - they are already affectionate and can be picked up and fed treats now and then.
I just need to find just the right names! Gateway is the front-runner, but I'm still considering a few other names. To misquote T. S. Elliot:
Cubical Cats, come out to-night / Cubical cats, come one, come all...
